Facebook Page/App for The Rock Bury
Wed, November 24, 2010
This weekend we were pleased to complete an exciting little project for The Rock Bury as part of their Christmas light switch on celebrations and the 'Street Star' competition.
We built a Facebook app that integrated into The Rock Bury's Facebook page, allowing people to vote for their favourite finalists in the Street Star contest. Voting has only been open a few days and the response has already been amazing.

A new career in a new town - The Media Centre, current work and proNet
Tue, October 12, 2010
We thought it would be nice to give an update detailing what we've been up to since our move over the Pennines.
We're now fully settled into The Media Centre, it's a great place to be with lots of 'extra curricular' things going on too. In particular the Knowledge Sandwich events are definitely worth a visit - they're free and invaluable for picking up tips/discussing ideas with respected industry figures. Also, the Percha Kucha events are excellent with some really great speakers talking about absolutely anything... great fun! You can see a general overview of upcoming events at The Media Centre here.
We've been so busy since the move too... a couple of sites in progress but we just launched SCIntillate this week. It's been great working on this site, mainly because dealing with Rob (one of the directors) has been so much fun. We can't recommend working with this company enough - they're so serious about what they do but have a brilliant approach that doesn't fit your usual science/environmental stereotype at all. If you have any requirement for an environmental workshop at your school/business/community project/event get in touch with these guys.
Another thing we've been getting involved with is proNet in West Yorkshire. Having always been suspicious and reluctant to join networking groups in the past we were persuaded otherwise after speaking to Jaimie Dobson, who runs proNet and seemed like a great guy. Meetings are much more relaxed than your usual networking events and your not obliged to bring x number business opportunities for other members etc. If you're a company in the West Yorkshire area we'd definitely recommend a visit to one of the groups. You can attend as a guest initially with no obligation to join.

We’re moving
Wed, August 04, 2010
After being based in Liverpool since Subsequence was founded we're moving to pastures new. Our new offices will be in the Media Centre in Huddersfield.
Things have been growing nicely for us over the last year or so whilst we have been operating as a 'virtual' organisation with the main focus being in Liverpool. However, the time has come to put down some roots and we've decided to do that over in Yorkshire at the exciting Media Centre. This is a really great venue for us that has a vibrant, creative atmosphere and has lots of other companies based there (from a very broad range of sectors/industries).
In addition, the Media Centre hosts lots of excellent events that we've already been visiting, meeting people and sharing knowledge.
We're still retaining our Liverpool connection though as we have many clients there and also, our good friend and colleague Stephen McIver of Zest is based there.
We should be moved in by the 23rd of August and our main number will still be 0151 324 3123 until further notice.

Civic Trust Awards 2011 application round opens
Mon, July 12, 2010
One of our clients, The Civic Trust Awards, have just launched the latest application round for their prestigious architecture award.
After the huge success of last years ceremony, held in St Georges Hall, Liverpool, applicants are now submitting their entries selected from the best buildings from across the world.
We helped by building the online application system, which is fully integrated with the website. This allows applicants to submit required informations such as, descriptions, key facts, geographic data and images. These schemes are then judged by assessors who also log into the system and assign their scores etc. The eventual winners then automatically feed into the main website winners section.
We hope this year goes even better for them than last - Good luck to The Civic Trust Awards!

Bold Street Coffee Opens!
Thu, May 06, 2010
Our good friends at Bold Street Coffee opened their doors today.
After weeks of hard work the team at Bold Street Coffee have achieved their goal and opened on time.
The work they've done is seriously amazing... the fit out is clean, sleek and stylish. The staff are a great set of people. But, the coffee is unreal. Seriously, this is an independent coffee shop punching above their weight and putting Starbucks, Costa, Nero, et al to shame.
They're based in Liverpool at 89 Bold Street, L1 4HF. So you should check them out as soon as you can.
A free fact for you all... 89 Bold Street used to be a place called the Odd Spot Club and the Beatles played there.

Civic Voice Launches
Sat, April 17, 2010
Civic Voice, one of our clients and the new national charity for the civic movement, is launched in London with fresh evidence of our passion for making the places where we all live more attractive, enjoyable and distinctive.
Speaking at the launch of Civic Voice, Griff Rhys Jones said, “Civic Voice is being launched as the nation debates its political future and communities are campaigning for more control over what happens in their local area. With three in four people identifying Civic Voice is a company limited by guarantee,
something valued locally which is at risk, the time is ripe for a powerful new grassroots voice. Civic Voice will turn local action into a national movement to make the places where we all live more attractive, enjoyable and distinctive. By joining in with the Love Local campaign everyone can play a part in building pride in their community.”
